Peterson, Bester, Lieders and Moras all podium at ERX Motor Park Snocross Recap šŸ

Tuesday, March 11, 2025Ā - The sixth stop on the National Snocross tour brought us to one of the most iconic tracks, ERX Motor Park in Elk River, MN and was the host to Rounds 10 and 11. With ample amount of snow, the track featured technical rhythm sections, deep holes and huge air which allowed for a fun-filled, action packed weekend of racing for racers and race-fans alike.

FRIDAY: ROUND 10 (PRO)

Triple Crown Round 1, during the first Pro race of the night, the action kicked off with a challenging start for both riders. They were towards the back of the pack off the line, but they both fought hard as the race unfolded. Peterson showed incredible perseverance, battling his way up to 6th place by the end of the race, while Bester managed to improve and finish in 11th place after making up one position. Despite a tough beginning, their determination shone through as they pushed forward in Round 1.

Under the lights for Round 2, Bester and Peterson shot out of the gates on their Team LaVallee, Polaris, Red Bull sleds with Peterson in 8th and after a tangle in the first corner, Bester was pushed towards the back of the pack. By the halfway point of the 8-minute plus 2-lap race, Peterson continued to ride aggressively but smooth and was up to the 5th place spot and Bester up to 10th. As the clock was winding down and on the lap lap of Round 2, Peterson made incredible moves and was able to finish out in the impressive 3d place spot, while Bester rounded out in 9th.

Heading into Round 3 of the Triple Crown, and the final race of the day, Peterson had strong start sitting in the 3rd place spot and Bester was on the hunt, sitting in the 10th place position. As the race was heating up, the clock was winding down and Peterson continued to push on the pressure as he was fighting for the 3rd place spot. As the checkered flags few for the final Pro Race of the night, Peterson finished out in the 4th place spot (taking 4th overall, just 2 points shy of a podium finish) and Bester rounded out the night in 11th (taking 13th place overall).

SATURDAY: ROUND 11 (PRO)

After a close-podium and some tough luck the day before, both riders were looking for redemption in Round 11 on Saturday. Things were looking up as Peterson took the fastest qualifying lap in practice and Bester was up there as well, in the 3rd place spot. As the green light went for the first race of the night in Elk River, Bester and Peterson ripped out of the gates in their Team LaVallee, Polaris, Red Bull sleds and going into the first corner, Bester was sitting in the excellent 2nd place spot with Peterson close behind in 4th. With some quick passing and finding smooth lines, Bester bumped up to the exciting 1st place spot and held that strong position for nearly the entire race. Peterson continued to put on the pressure and with two minutes plus one lap to go, Peterson passed up to 2nd place. On the last lap and in the last corner, Peterson went for the inside line and was able to sneak around Bester and win Triple Crown Round 1 while Bester was bumped back to a 3rd place photo finish, just missing the 2nd place spot by a ski tip.

For the 2nd Triple Crown race, both riders had a great start off of the line with Peterson coming in the 3rd place spot and Bester in 5th, both riders hunting down the number 1 spot. As clock was winding down, things were heating up track-side as Peterson jumped up to 2nd and Bester was sitting back in 7th. At about the halfway mark, a yellow flag continued for the remained of the race, and all riders needed to be smart and attentive during the yellow, making it troublesome to pass. Both riders were able to maintain their positions and Peterson finished out Round 2 in the excellent 2nd place spot, while Bester rounded out in 7th.

As the Pro Sleds lined up for the Final Triple Crown Race in Elk River, Peterson was tied for the first place position and Bester was sitting in the 4th place spot points-wise. As the green light went, Peterson rocketed out of the gates on his Team LaVallee, Polaris, Red Bull sled (earning himself the Stud Boy hotshot award) and was sitting in the first place spot with teammate, Bester, sitting right at his heals in the 2nd place spot! With the intense 8 minute plus one lap race to go, Peterson and Bester had the challenge of the entire field hunting them down. Three minutes in to the 8 minute plus on lap final, both Peterson and Bester were passed, each losing one position but their determination outweighed anything else. As the checkered flags flew, Peterson finished out in the excellent 2nd place spot and Bester right behind in 3rd, both securing podium finishes in Elk River. As the scored were tallied for the overall, Bester finished out in 3rd Place and Peterson in 2nd place! A Team LaVallee and Polaris filled Podium to round out the weekend in Elk River. Congrats to both riders and for Ryley Bester earning his first Pro Podium of his career.
