New York Snocross National Recap

Longville, MN (February 10, 2015) – Rounds 9 and 10 brought Team LaVallee to the East Coast, to Seneca Allegany Resort and Casino in Salamanca, New York, a “home-town” race for Pro Rider, Jake Scott. With large amounts of snow already fallen in Salamanca, the track this year nearly doubled in size compared to last year. With 8 lap qualifiers and 22 lap finals, the fans were in for a treat of bar-to-bar racing action in Salamanca.

Team LaVallee riders, Jake Scott, Andy Lieders, and Kyle Pallin were hopeful for another weekend of great racing and great results. With good qualifying, Lieders and Pallin were able to make it into the front row of the Round 9 Final. And for the home track rider, Jake Scott, a hard crash in the LCQ (last chance qualifier) caused Scott to just missed the final by one position. Off of the line, in the Friday night Final, Pallin had a great start and came out 4th off of the line. Charging hard to make position moves, Pallin had an unfortunate off – causing him to fall back and finish in 11th place. Andy Lieders rode a consistent race and finished a notable 9th.

For Saturday, Day 2 / Round 10 qualifying things were looking up for Team LaVallee. Pallin took 1st and 4th in his qualifying rounds, while Scott and Lieders both made it into the final via the LCQ (last chance qualifier). Scott, suffering from a very tough off in his qualifying rounds started the Pro Round 10 Final, but did not ride fully due to a concussion earlier that day. Off of the start of the Round 10 Final, Pallin (again) was looking strong and was towards the front of the pack. As 15 riders were battling it out towards the first corner of the track, Pallin cased a jump, causing him to come off the track and moved back to last place. With much persistence in the 22-lap Final, Pallin ended with an excellent 7th place and Lieders finished right behind him in 8th place.

“New York was a tough race for Team LaVallee. Our qualifying rounds were good, but we just couldn’t put anything together in the finals. There were some tough crashes and I am thankful that the injuries weren’t any worse than what they were. Looking forward to having this weekend off for additional testing and practice time. Our Team is determined and itching for better results, which we hope to see in Chicago.” – Levi LaVallee
