Team LaVallee heats things up at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN

Longville, MN (January 13, 2026) — After a short break for the holiday season, the National Snocross Series returned this past weekend for Rounds 3 and 4 at the “Daytona of Snocross,” Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota. Leading into the two-day National, the Snocross crew produced an impressive amount of snow, creating one of the largest and more technical tracks we’ll see this season. Fans filled both the indoor and outdoor grandstands throughout the weekend at the hometown race for Pro rider Ryley Bester and Grassroots Sport rider Cody Moras.

PRO CLASS — FRIDAY (Round 3) & SATURDAY (Round 4) RECAP
Friday featured the Triple Crown format, and Team LaVallee came in with momentum after a strong testing week and a recent regional Pro victory by Adam Peterson, where he captured a $10,000 win. The format demanded consistency across three intense rounds, and both riders were ready for the challenge.
Ryley Bester opened the night with excellent back-to-back 2nd-place finishes in Rounds One and Two — including a Stud Boy Holeshot Award in Round Two — immediately putting himself in podium contention. Adam Peterson battled through traffic to finish 7th in the opening round before suffering a tough off in Round Two that dropped him back in the field, though he fought through to finish 14th.
In Round Three, Bester ripped out of the gate and earned the Stud Boy Holeshot Award, settling into an aggressive battle as the podium math came into play. Knowing he needed a win — or to finish ahead of two key rivals — Bester pushed hard for the full race and crossed the line in 6th, which secured him 3rd overall for the night. Despite taking a hard hit in Round Two, Peterson pushed through the pain and, once again working from the back of the pack, completed the Triple Crown with a 10th-place overall finish.
For Bester, standing on the podium at his hometown race in front of family, friends, and local fans was a special moment and a strong highlight of the weekend. Congratulations Ryley!
Saturday returned to the traditional Heat–Heat–Final format for Round 4, with Bester eager to build on his hometown podium from the night before and Peterson cleared to race by the Mobile Medical team while managing bruised ribs from Friday’s incidents. In Heat One, Bester grabbed another Stud Boy Holeshot Award and held strong to finish 2nd, while Peterson was caught in a pileup in the first straight away and worked his way back to 10th.
In Heat Two, Bester once again took the Studboy Holeshot Award but went wide in the opening corner, coming out third with Peterson right behind in fourth. Both riders continued to battle, finishing 5th and 6th respectively.
In the Pro Final, Bester completed a clean sweep of the weekend by earning yet another Stud Boy Holeshot Award aboard his Team LaVallee- Polaris–Red Bull sled and exiting the first corner battling for the first place spot. Peterson ripped off the line as well and was sitting just behind Bester in the close 2nd place spot but became caught in a multi-sled pileup in the opening laps, forcing him to fight forward from the back of the pack. As the 10-minute plus one-lap final unfolded, Bester was pushing to advance when a late-race off dropped him back, resulting in a 12th-place finish, while Peterson charged his way through the field to a strong 8th, despite the early setback.
SPORT CLASS — CODY MORAS
Cody Moras showed clear progress in Canterbury, delivering a more consistent and confident weekend in the highly competitive Sport class. On Friday, Moras qualified into the Sport Final and got off to a solid start before falling back to finish 10th, gaining valuable experience against a deep field. Saturday brought more ups and downs, but Moras continued to build speed and sharpen his skills, taking another important step forward as he continues his rookie season.
