Longville, MN (February 26, 2018) – Continuing on for the eastern swing of the 2017-2018 National Snocross Series, Soaring Eagle Resort and Casino in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan was the host to Rounds 11 and 12. Considering the amount of rain Mt Pleasant had the week leading up to the National Race, the track was quite impressive. The crew at ISOC and Soaring Eagle Resort and Casino re-assured the show would go on despite the weather and they did a great job preserving more than enough snow for a jam-packed two day National.
On Friday / Day 1 / Round 11 of snocross racing, the technical track was wet, dense, and challenging lap-to-lap. In Pro Lite Zak Mason and Evan Daudt had great qualifying. Daudt made it straight into the front row of the final and Mason was the number one pick for the back row. On the line of the Round 11 Final, both riders had a tough start but pushed hard and rode smart, leaving Daudt in the 10th place spot and Mason an impressive 7th place position (from the back row) on Friday Night.
On Saturday / Day 2 / Round 12 Mason and Daudt again had great qualifying and both were in the front row of the Pro Lite Round 12 Final, with Mason qualifying in the 7th place spot and Daudt in the 4th place spot. On the line for the 12 lap Pro Lite Final both riders got squeezed out off of the start and had their work cut out for them with tough visibility and not many passing opportunities, Daudt finished in the 10th place spot and Mason finished in the 9th place spot rounding out the weekend in Michigan.
For Team LaVallee’s grassroots rider, Adam Peterson (Sport) had impressive qualifying rounds both Friday and Saturday, allowing him to be in the front row of his respective finals. Peterson finished in the 8th place position in the Round 11 Sport Final Friday Night and really shined on Saturday night despite a tough mid-pack start but Peterson rode with much determination and finished out the weekend in the excellent 4th place spot for the Round 12 Final.
