Longville, MN (March 12, 2018) – Sundown Mountain Resort in Dubuque, Iowa was the host to Rounds 13 and 14 of the ISOC Snocross Series. The year the track had a different look than last year and gave a more fan-friendly viewing for the large crowd. The track was one of the biggest we’ve seen this season with a lengthy start, huge downhill section, and big air which was pleasing to the racers and race fans alike.
Friday / Day 1 / Round 13 kicked off the race weekend with Zak Mason (Pro Lite) and Evan Daudt (Pro Lite) both having a solid day of qualifying. Mason took 1st and 4th in his qualifying rounds and Daudt took a 2nd and 1st in his respective rounds, securing both riders for a great spot on the front row of the final Friday Night. Off of the start of the line for the Pro Lite Round 13 Final, Daudt and Mason came out of the gate in a good position and throughout the 12-lap Final, Mason had an unfortunate off and pushed him back to the 14th place position and pushed his way through ending in the 11th place spot. For Daudt, he was battling for a top 5 spot when another racer made contact with him, enough so much that Daudt went off the track straight to the FXR Medical Mobile trailer to get looked over by Dr. Parson’s. An on-site X-Ray determined that Daudt had a fractured fibula and will be out for the remainder of the season. Sending well wishes and a speedy recovery to Evan.
On Saturday / Day 2 / Round 14 Mason (Pro Lite) had an excellent day of qualifying with a 1st and 4th place finish in his qualifying rounds. On the line for the Pro Lite Round 14 Final, Mason shot out of the gate in a great position and was riding in the 3rd place spot. Mason continued to ride strong throughout the 12-lap final and with two laps to go, Mason had an unfortunate off but got back on quickly and finished out the weekend in the notable 5th place spot.
For Team LaVallee’s grassroots riders, Adam Peterson (Sport) had an awesome weekend of racing. Peterson made the front row of both of his Sport Finals over the two-day weekend and came off of the line strong and held his momentum throughout his finals, finishing in an exciting 2nd Place on Friday and rounding out the weekend with another podium finish, with a 3rd place on Saturday. Awesome job, Adam!
